  • 679KB (uncompressed)
  • Released on
  • Suggested by Andrew Lee

Blowfish Advanced CS is a easy to use encryption and disk wipe program, removing the extra step of typing in a password every time you view an encrypted file. Instead, the program caches the key and allows the dynamic viewing of encrypted files, renamed to a .BFA extension. To view, open them inside the Blowfish Advanced CS file manager or drag-and-drop them into the program window. Note that edits are not dynamically encrypted to the same location. Files must be decrypted and then edited.

The program includes a variety of security options including use of a key disk, a time-out for available decryption, multiple algorithms including Blowfish (default), AES, Twofish, Serpent, etc., multiple file / empty disk space shredding options, and more. Compression options are also available.

Entry needs updating. There isn't any mention of a 'Portable Edition' at the download link: there are two downloadables, a 'xn_resourceeditor_setup.exe' (which can be UniExtracted) and a 'xnresourceeditor.zip' -- in the end, the difference between the two is that you get an extra 'readme.txt' inside the '{app}' folder from the first...

If you like fiddling and often have nothing to do while sitting at the pc then this is for you.

With a range of between 6v and 25 point puzzles it will keep you going for ages and it's just plain fun.

An added bonus you can probably fit most of the games on the authors site onto a floppy disk if you're really pressed for timewasting space

I have been using this program for years. I have tried every way possible to contact the authour in order to have some improvements made, but can't ever seem to get ahold of him. None of the comments I make on the page ever get moderated and posted.

It has an issue where if you create a new folder and then immediately attempt to delete it, you will get an application exception, even the app won't crash completely. After that exception, nothing you do will get saved, so the best thing to do at that point is to exit the program completely and re-open it. I used reshacker on it and was able to achieve wordwrap in the comments pane, and to remove the functionality where the cursor gets put anywhere you click instead of going to last place available in the line of text. If anyone wants my hacked version, I can provide it. Like I said, I've tried everything to get ahold of the authour, but all to no avail. However, despite all this, I haven't found a better "code bank" than this one, and I've tried them all.

@tproli
Fixed. Here's what happened... I opened CodeBank2's config file with Notepad while testing the program for portability. But I totally forgot about that when I was looking for registry changes. To cut the story short, .xdb2 came up in the search results and I was quick to list it as "not stealth", neglecting the fact that Notepad was the culprit. Thanks, redfaced baas.

USAPhotoMaps downloads USGS aerial photo and topology map data from Microsoft's free TerraServer Web site, saves it on your hard drive, and creates maps with GPS accuracy. You can scroll and zoom, see latitude/longitude, USGS Landmarks, TIGER/Line streets, elevation and contour lines, add waypoints, routes, and text, go to any address, populated place, USGS landmark, or latitude/longitude in the U.S.A, transfer waypoints, tracks, and routes to and from most GPS receivers, see your GPS location etc.

Note: USAPhotoMaps always pops up a beg screen when you exit the program, which can be dismissed with a button click. If you are allergic to this sort of behaviour, don't bother downloading it! You have been warned.
